Information that is automatically collected by our website
When you visit our website, we log your IP address (i.e. your computer’s internet address, not your e-mail address) and other general usage data in order to analyse which parts of our website you visit and how much time you spend on individual pages. This data is combined with the usage data of all visitors to the website in order to measure the number of visitors, average session length for each page, pages visited, etc. The data we collect will be used for internal purposes and pursuant to the provisions of our anonymised process. It will not be possible to trace the data back to you personally.
We use this combined data to evaluate our products and services, including news which are accessible through our website, to measure the usage of our website and to improve its content in general. The usage data for our website will, under no circumstances, be linked to personal data which may reveal information about you.
We do however reserve the right to subsequently review the information if there is reasonable evidence to suggest illegal use.
Like many other commercial websites, Europa-Park uses the general technology known as “cookies” where appropriate to collect data on how you use the website and to ensure a smooth visit, in particular if you are using our shop or the booking or voucher portal for placing an order.
Our cookies do not reveal or contain any personal data. Cookies cannot read out information from your computer or collaborate with other cookies on your hard drive. Cookies allow us, however, to recognise you if you return to our website at a later date.
If you do not want your browser to accept cookies you may switch off this function through your browser settings. Switching off the cookies function prevents the website from working properly. This means that you may be unable to use all options and obtain all information offered by the website.
In some e-mail messages to our customers we use “click-through URL” technology. Clicking on one of these links will take your through our computer system to the actual website you want to go to. Europa-Park uses click-through URL technology to determine interest in certain topics and measure the effectiveness of our communication measures. We do not exchange this data with anyone and we do not attempt to connect click-through URLs with individual e-mail addresses.
We use e-mail for services or in connection with the purchase of products. In these cases we will keep your e-mail address on file within the scope permitted by the law.
Use of data
We will only use personal data to
- process orders that are placed online,
- send you messages like our newsletter, which contains information on Europa-Park products, services and Europa-Park special offers,
- improve our service,
- respond to any requests or queries you have,
- process your requests,
- market our products and services.
If you use our order modules to purchase products and services via our website, we will use your data to process your order(s) and to send you e-mails updating you on the progress of your order(s). Any credit card details you send us will be used for payment processing in connection with your order. If you purchase Europa-Park products through this website, your credit card details will be protected using SSL encryption. If you wish to make a purchase without providing your credit card details online, please do so via our call centre. If you provide us with your e-mail address or other contact data, we will use such data to send you updates on the latest Europa-Park information and offers. If you do not wish to be contacted, you may indicate this, and Europa-Park will respect your wish. In this case, please opt out by responding to the e-mail or by clicking on the opt-out link in the newsletter.
Use of Google Analytics
Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of this site by the user, to compile reports on activities within this site and to provide additional services related to the use of this site and the Internet. Pseudonymous user profiles can be created from the processed data.
We only use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. This means that the user’s IP address will be abbreviated by Google within the European Union or in other states parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the US and abbreviated there. The IP address transmitted by the user’s browser is not merged with other data from Google.
Users can prevent the storage of cookies by setting their browser software accordingly; users can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie and related to its use of the website, as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on the following link. This sets an opt-out cookie which prevents your data from being collected when you visit our website in the future: Deactivate Google Analytics
For further information on Google’s use of the data for advertising purposes, possible settings and opt-out possibilities, please refer to Google’s web pages:
https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners (Use of data by Google when you use the websites or apps of our partners),
http://www.google.de/settings/ads (Managing information used by Google to display advertising) and
http://www.google.com/ads/preferences (“Make the ads you see more useful to you”).
Commissioned data processing
We have entered into an agreement with Google for contract data processing and are fully implementing the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Use of Google Adwords
We also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service provided by Google Inc. Google AdWords places a cookie on your computer (“conversion cookie”) if you came to our website via a Google ad. This cookie loses its validity after 30 days and is not used for personal identification. Its only purpose is to recognize that you have clicked on one of our ads and have consequently been forwarded to our website.
If you do not wish to participate in this tracking process, you can disable it using the Ad Manager (http://www.google.com/settings/ads) or reject all cookies – for example, by adjusting your browser settings. You can also disable cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the “googleadservices.com” domain.
Use of Google Remarketing, Google “Similar audiences”, and Google “Advertising Reporting Features”
Use of Google SiteSearch
Use of Amazon Conversion Pixel and Amazon Remarketing Pixel
You can prevent cookies being saved by adjusting the settings of your browser software accordingly; however we would like to point out that if you do this, you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. Furthermore, you can prevent Amazon collecting and processing the data produced by the cookies relating to your usage of the website by clicking on this link and activating the setting “do not personalise the advertising shown from Amazon for this web browser”: https://www.amazon.com/adprefs.
Alternatively, you can activate the relevant settings at: http://www.youronlinechoices.com. This places an opt-out cookie in your browser that prevents your data being collected by the Amazon Pixel when you visit our website in the future. If you delete the opt-out cookie, this opt-out will no longer be valid, otherwise it remains valid.
Use of Facebook plug-in (like button)
Our website uses social plug-ins provided by the social network Facebook, 1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. These plugins are identifiable by a Facebook logo or the “like” button on our site. For a full list of all social plug-ins please see http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/
When you visit a page of our website that contains a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook servers. This provides Facebook with the information that your IP address has visited our website. If you click on “like” while logged into your Facebook account, you may link content from our pages to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to link the visit to our pages to your user account. Please note that, as operator of the pages, we do not obtain any knowledge of the content of any data transmitted or its use through Facebook.
If you do not wish Facebook to connect your visit to our website with your Facebook user account, please log off Facebook before entering our website.
Integration of Facebook open graphs
Europa-Park allows users to grant permission via Facebook. If the Facebook user opts for this registration method, their data is used for the “Personal recommendations” area on this website. When they click on the Facebook Connect button, the user is asked to grant their approval for the linking of their existing Facebook account with the website. The following data is explicitly requested from the Facebook account: user’s first and last name, date of birth, gender, the URL of the Facebook profile picture and the Facebook user ID. In addition, the name, category, object ID and timestamp of the Facebook Likes as well as Facebook interests are requested. Part of the data (age, sex, Facebook Likes and Facebook interests) are anonymously transferred to our partner Adtelligence GmbH to compare the interests with our products. Adtelligence temporarily stores this anonymized data for the purpose of improving the category suggestions displayed on the site.
The process allows this website to make individual user recommendations. On the “Personal recommendations” page of this website, appropriate suggestions are made based on the interests and preferences of the user.
If the user does not wish to transmit such information to this website or a third-party website, he/she can define this in the Facebook settings: I do not want third-party websites to be able to access my information: Facebook: Account – Basic Privacy Settings. For further information please go to Facebook’s Data Policy.
Facebook custom audience from your website
Our website uses ‘re-targeting technology’. We use this technology to create a more interesting online presence for you. This technology connects internet users who are already interested in our website with our partner’s websites (e.g. Facebook) via adverts. We believe that using personalised adverts that are relevant to a user’s interests are generally more interesting for internet users than adverts that are of no personal relevance. This type of advertising medium is used on our partners’ websites based on using cookie technology and analysing previous user behaviour. This type of advertising is completely pseudonymous. Of course, no personal data is saved here. Re-targeting technology is used in accordance with applicable legal data protection provisions.
Facebook users should be aware that Facebook’s communication tool Website Custom Audiences is used on the website. For this, ‘Facebook pixels’ are integrated into our website, which you as a user of our website select anonymously, i.e. without you being identified as a person. You are then logged into Facebook, and a non-reversible and thus non-personal checksum (profile) from your user data is submitted to Facebook for analysis and marketing purposes. You can find more information on the purpose and scope of Facebook’s data collection and further processing and use of the data, as well as your setting options for protecting your privacy, in Facebook’s data protection guidelines, which can be found at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/ and https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.
If you want to opt-out of the use of Facebook Website Custom Audiences, you can do so at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/.
To improve user experiences on our websites, we use Hotjar software (http://www.hotjar.com, 3 Lyons Range, 20 Bisazza Street, Sliema SLM 1640, Malta, Europe). Using Hotjar, we can quantify and assess user behaviours (mouse movements, clicks, scroll amounts, etc.) In order to do this, Hotjar installs cookies on the user’s end device and then can save user data such as browser information, operating system, time spent on the website, etc., in an anonymous way. You can prevent your data from being processed by Hotjar by disabling cookies in your web browser settings and deleting cookies that are already active. You can find out more about Hotjar data processing here: https://www.hotjar.com/privacy.
If you do not want Hotjar’s website analysis, you can disable this (opt-out) for all websites that use Hotjar by clicking DoNotTrack-Headers in your browser. You can find information about this on the following website https://www.hotjar.com/opt-out.
This website uses Optimizely, a web analysis service from Optimizely, Inc. (“Optimizely”). Optimizely uses “cookies”, text files that are saved on your computer and which facilitate analysis for how the website is used. The information obtained by the cookies about the use of this website are generally transferred to an Optimizely server in the U.S. and saved there.
If IP anonymisation is enabled on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Optimizely in advance within the Member States of the European Union or in other contracting parties to the agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will only be transferred to an Optimizely server in the U.S. in exceptional cases. Optimizely will use this information to assess your use of the website and to create reports on website activity on behalf of the website operator.
The IP address communicated by your browser as part of Optimizely shall not be combined with other Optimizely data. You can stop cookies from being saved by changing your browser software settings. However, please note that if you do this, not all of this website’s functions can be used to their full extent. You can also disable Optimizely tracking at any time (thus preventing data obtained from cookies relating to your use of the website from being collected – including your IP address – by Optimizely, as well as any processing of this data by Optimizely), by clicking on http://www.optimizely.com/opt_out. You can find more information on conditions of use and data protection at https://www.optimizely.com/terms/, and https://www.optimizely.com/privacy/.
Please note that we have enabled IP anonymisation on this website to ensure that IP addresses are collected anonymously.
Use of Dievision/Adspert Conversion Pixel and Dievision/Adspert Remarketing Pixel

However, please note that if you choose to do so, you may not be able to fully utilize all functions of this website. You can also prevent Adspert from collecting data generated by cookies and related to your use of the website, as well as the processing of this data by Adspert, by following the instructions at http://www.adsrvr.org/. An opt-out cookie is then set in your browser, preventing the future capture of your data by the Adspert Pixel when you visit our website. Unless you delete the opt-out cookie, this setting will not change. If you would like further information on this topic, please visit http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/.
